My trip to NYC and Mood Fabrics
My daughter and I took a quick trip to NYC over the Halloween weekend to go watch a concert for Sabrina Carpenter. She had never been to a music concert. I thought it would be great for us to get out of town for the weekend, walk around and tackle her first concert ever.
We had a lot of fun. Sabrina Carpenter put on a great show, engaged the audience and I would highly recommend her to anyone. It was Halloween so the entire audience dressed up for Halloween and sure enough she did too.
Sabrina dressed up as Wonder Woman, Barbie and Fred Flintstone (yes Fred!)
But before we made it to the concert we hit Mood Fabrics, what can I say it was great. The concert, the hotel and the Fashion District area were less than 8 blocks away!
On a Random Note…
It wasn’t my first trip to Mood, I was there quite a few times as a florist as I would add in textiles to my events so I did go buy a few things and visited the flower district back in my days which is quite amazing in itself but you gotta wake up really early because by 9AM the good stuff is long gone when it comes to flowers. BUT I wasn’t there for flowers I was there for music and fabric.
We did good!
We Stayed on Budget, Found some fabric gems and even burned a few calories moving bolts of fabric around. I knew I had purchased some designer fabrics because it was clearly labeled on the tags of the bolts but I didn’t know what the designer had made with them. Thank you Google Images for Providing the details.
Peony Fabric Print from Carolina Herrera, she had this skirt online
I also saw this button down dress by Carolina Herrera. It retails for something out of my budget
I also got this Kelly green pineapple print dress.
We had a lot of fun and I certainly hope everyone gets to take a trip to Mood Fabrics once in their lives. It is a fun place, it can also be somewhat overwhelming if you don’t know what to buy and don’t come with some sort of an idea or a plan. So before you go in…. have a plan and a BUDGET. Make sure you stick with it and have fun.
